Someone wandering behind a warehouse in Dubai’s Al Quoz stumbled upon something they weren’t expecting today—the Batmobile.
More specifically—the Tumbler, the Batmobile that debuted in Christian Bale’s first Batman film Batman Begins in 2005.
Reddit user u/gautamailani92 posted a photo of the famed car on the Dubai subreddit, asking “what do you guys think the reason is for abandonment?”. The post quickly shot up to number one on the sub.
This is not the first time that the Batmobile has made an appearance in Dubai. In 2015, Arabian Business reported that the car, which was featured in the entire Dark Knight Trilogy directed by Christian Bale, was on sale for $1 million.
The 5.7 litre vehicle with an estimated top speed of 250km/h, is apparently a replica of the one featured in the Batman films. It is powered by a Chevrolet Corvette V8 5.7 litre petrol engine that has over 500 horsepower, and was able to be registered to legally drive on the UAE roads, the owner told Arabian Business at the time. The super swamper tyres at rear of the vehicle measured 44-inch in height, two 18.5 inch Hoosier tyres at the front.
The front of the car rises up at high speeds, bringing out its iconic giant spider effect as found in the trilogy of films, which also featured The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).

From the looks of it, the car hasn’t been hitting any high speeds any time recently, sitting unwashed in Al Quoz. While some on Reddit commented that they’ve seen it driving around town, it seems to be sitting in the same state it was in a viral YouTube video released year ago, so it seems that the Tumbler may indeed be abandoned, or at the very least neglected.
Some people just want to watch the world burn, indeed.
