Hotel rooms just got a lot tidier and Japanese

Muji is known by tidy people for its minimalist products at reasonable prices.

But recently, it decided to branch out from toothbrush holders and small aeroplane-sized bottles into fully-fledged hotels. It’s quite a leap, but one that people who like putting things ‘in the right place’ will no doubt enjoy.

The Japanese retailer has announced the opening of its Muji Hotel in two locations. The first will open next year in Shenzhen, China. The first location will boast 79 guest rooms, all of which will be kitted out in recycled wood. Naturally, each room will follow the brand’s signature minimalist aesthetic and come furnished with furniture and accessories from Muji’s portfolio of products.

The second location – this time in Tokyo – is slated to open in 2019, and will also house the company’s flagship store.
