The French Open champ gets all-new gear

It’s been an important week for tennis superstar Novak Djokovic. Ahead of the French Open, the 12-time Grand Slam champion has not only hired Andre Agassi as his new coach, but the stylish Serbian has also been announced as the new ‘style ambassador’ for French apparel giants, Lacoste.

There are few (if any) brands that have a historical link to the tennis world that can rival Lacoste’s. Having been established in 1933 by the French tennis player Rene Lacoste – himself a seven-time Grand Slam champion – bringing Djokovic on board reaffirms the brand’s core message: fusing functionality with style.

The new Novak Djokovic collection makes its debut at the French Open (May 22 to June 11) as the current world number 2 looks to defend his title.

All the products from the new line are engineered from materials handpicked for their quality and performance. Every detail is geared towards comfort: ergonomic stitching prevents chaffing while the cuts bring about ease of movement, while Novak Djokovic’s signature is printed on the left sleeve of the polo shirt.

The collection will be available in all Lacoste boutiques, from May 2017
