Saudi Arabia has said that it will be lifting any and all travel restrictions on its citizens leaving and returning to The Kingdom starting January 1st. It’s all part of the country’s coronavirus-related precautionary measures and protocols.
However, citizens of the GCC as well as expats and dependents will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia starting September 15.
Those allowed to enter starting tomorrow include expats who have a valid exit and entry visa, a work visa, a residency permit and a visit visa (provided they fulfil all covid-19 precautionary measures, including having a negative coronavirus test within 48-hours).
The decision was taken after the relevant authorities reviewed the ongoing pandemic developments.
Despite not having a vaccine, the Saudi government was keen to stress that the health and safety of all its citizens were most important.
According to the ministry statement, the date set for lifting all travel restrictions will be re-confirmed 30 days before January 1.
