Top midfielder Miralem Pjanic has officially said farewell to FC Barcelona and has joined the UAE’s Sharjah FC on a two year deal with the option to extend it to three.
“The star “Pyanic” joins the King’s castle. We welcome the joining of Bosnian international Miralem Pjanić (32 years old) to our team from the Spanish club Barcelona in a free transfer deal that extends for two seasons with the advantage of extension.” said Sharjah FC in an Instagram post.

Pjanic arrived in the UAE on Tuesday in order to finalise the terms and conditions of his new contract with Sharjah FC.
FC Barcelona released a statement on their website thanking Miralem Pjanic for his professionalism, dedication and commitment to the clubs needs and wished him the best of luck for the future.
Pjanic had been with FC Barcelona since the summer of 2020 where he arrived from Juventus. In his very first season, he made 30 appearances in all competitions as well as the Copa del Rey which the team would go on to win.
In that time, the Bosnian was briefly on loan to Besiktas JK in Turkey for the 2021/22 season.
