Apple had a busy evening; unveiling the latest iPad Pro that comes with its much-touted M1 chip under the hood.
The Spring Loaded event also saw the launch of a new purple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini model in purple, AirTags, the next-generation Apple TV, and colourful new iMacs.
The inclusion of the M1 chip in the iPad Pro was highly expected. Currently, the M1 chip powers Apple’s latest laptop line – and by sticking it into its pro-level iPad has automatically made it the fastest tablet in history.

You get an 8-core CPU (and each core is still the world’s fastest) that should deliver up to 40 percent graphics performance. You also get Apple’s 16-core Neural Engine – which provides up to 16GB of RAM (2x times faster than the previous model) and a memory capacity up to 2 terabytes.
The 2021 iPad Pro also comes with 5G connectivity, and includes support for Thunderbolt (via the USB-C charging cable down the bottom).
Apple also included a new ultra wide front camera, along with something called Center Stage – fancy new technology that will automatically keep users center while recording video.

The next-generation iPad Pro comes in two flavours: an 11-inch model that starts at AED3,199 and a larger 12.9-inch tablet that goes for AED4,399 (however, only the largest model comes with Apple’s new Liquid Retina XDR display).
The good news is that both models will arrive in the Middle East in line with international markets, so you can pick up either device from your local Apple Store on April 30.
